KARL by Karl Lagerfeld debuts tomorrow on Net-a-Porter and with 5 Pop-ups Worldwide, Incuding NYC

The wait is nearly over. Hot off sending his couture pieces for Chanel down the runway in Paris yesterday, Karl Lagerfeld’s upcoming KARL collection will debut on online luxury boutique Net-a-Porter tomorrow. For those who want to celebrate the more-accessible line (and shop it!) in person, head over to 375 Bleecker Street starting at 10:30am tomorrow. The first 50 people to arrive at the pop-up shop will receive a gift from the line and one lucky shopper will win a $1,500 Net-a-Porter shopping spree.
Net-a-Porter took extra precautions to prevent a server overload when the line launches tomorrow–a spokesperson for the online boutiqe said, ”Introducing a brand like KARL is likely to generate unprecedented traffic so we have strengthened the measures we take to protect against lapses in service and have high hopes that we will be able to provide a seamless customer experience for all those wishing to buy from the collection.” But New Yorkers need not worry, as we can just pop by the pop-up.
In addition to the shopping mayhem that is about to ensue in NYC, there will be pop-up shops in Paris, London, Berlin and Sydney as well. His royal highness of Chanel, Mr. Lagerfeld will appear at the pop-up on St. Germain in Paris tomorrow–which will be housed in mysterious, but definitely haute, cube. Net-a-Porter also released a slew of interactive contests and apps, available on the boutique’s website–including a “Karl Clone” app, which gives any photo Lagerfeld’s signature white hairdo and dark shade, and he will choose his favorite “Karlified” fan on Jan. 25.
‘It’s my … taste and style and a reflection of how I think a great number of people would like to be dressed now,” Lagerfeld told Women’s Wear Daily of his new collection. ”I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear.” As such, the pieces are priced from $115 for a tank top to $2200 for an evening gown.
Go ahead, “Karlify” yourself.
