Rumors have been swirling about the possibility of Italian automaker Lamborghini producing an SUV. A recently leaked image of a Lamborghini model that appears to be an SUV has just added fuel to the luxury car speculation fire.

It’s no secret that Lamborghini has been thinking about developing an SUV model for some time; it’s a competitive market and with the upcoming Bentley SUV and the Maserati Kubang, it was only a matter of time before Lamborghini developed something similar. However, it appears the company has finally done so, as new leaked images from Italian publication quattroroute.it appear to show a Lamborghini SUV.

Reports indicate that the same V10 engine as the Gallardo will power the Lamborghini SUV, which is able to produce a total output of 575 horsepower. There are also indications that a hybrid drivetrain with 700 HP is in the works and set for production in 2015.

For those looking to view the four-seat concept version of the Lamborghini SUV, you’ll be able to see it when it’s official presented to the public at the Beijing Motor Show, in China, during the press days from April 23-24.

It’s possible that the Lamborghini SUV won’t be on sale until 2016.
