Iranian Spiritual Film Week in Moscow

On February 4th, 2012, Moscow will have their opening of the Iranian Spiritual Film Week. This week consists of A-list cast such Negar Javaherian, Parivash Nazarieh, Reza Kianian, Saeid Pursamimi, Rima Raminfar and Hedayat Hashemi, along with numerous sessions and meetings with several students and film critics.

According to the Persian service of IRNA, the Iranian movies will be translated into Russian, along with a guest appearance by Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi. This Spiritual Film Week will be dedicating a special section to the retro-filmmaker.

The star studded event will be cosponsored by Iran’s Art Bureau, the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and Iran’s Embassy in Moscow. The Film Week will start off with “A Cube of Sugar”, Mirkarimi’s family drama about four sisters who run into problems with planning their younger sister’s engagement party, but during the week there will be special viewings of Mirkarimi’s other films, “Under the Moonlight”, “So Simple”, “The Child and the Soldier” and “So Far, So Close.
