Last night, Calvin Harris celebrated his 28th birthday in style with a special set at XS Nightclub at  Encore Las Vegas. The current EDM phenom was welcomed in style as nightlife executives cut the music 10 minutes before his arrival to coordinate a surprise greeting. As the Scottish superstar walked up the famous gold steps and into the venue, thousands of club-goers screamed “Surprise!” as confetti cannons exploded and a sea of gorgeous cocktail servers waved XS glow sticks, marching him into the venue and onto stage. Singer Dani D serenaded him with “Happy Birthday” on the mic before the staff presented him with a three-tiered cake featuring neon embellishments by Gimme Some Sugar.

Harris said he has heard his top 10 hit “We Found Love” with Rihanna more often this weekend than he did throughout the entire recording process. The single has become a club anthem worldwide and a favorite among fellow DJ remixes. While very modest over his crossover success, he was mum on future collaborations, saying he preferred to dish once the work is done and the final product is in place.

He played for the packed Monday night crowd until the early hours of the morning, with champagne being popped in his honor throughout the 40,000-square-foot venue until sunrise.
