Good Food Awards Coming to the Ferry Building Marketplace

Once again, the Ferry Building Marketplace gives us another reason to make our way to the waterfront. Always known for its artisan marketplaces delivering fresh and inventive food, the Ferry Building Marketplace brings us the 2nd annual Good Food Awards. This special event was created to celebrate sustainably harvested food around the nation. Festivities will begin with a black-tie optional gala on Friday night, to be followed by a spectacular marketplace on Saturday.

“Be the first to fete the 99 Good Food Award Winners of 2012, flown in from 26 states, together with chefs, media and the 130 Good Food Award judges (including Alice Waters and Ruth Reichl). At this black tie optional gala, taste the winning foods from all corners of the country both in regional tasting plates and as envisioned by local chefs from The Boxing Room, Foreign Cinema, Absinthe, Bar Agricole, the Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessan and more. An open bar will serve up the 15 winning brews and creations with winning spirits by bartending phenomena the Bon Vivants of Trick Dog.”

Visitors to the marketplace will be invited to taste the award-winning foods surrounded by the spectacular Saturday Farmers’ Market at San Francisco’s iconic Ferry Building.”
