Catherine Middleton Announces The Charities She Will Patron

Catherine Middleton has revealed the four charities she plans to support, ranging from drug addiction to art. The Duchess of Cambridge selected The National Portrait Gallery, Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and The Art Room as the organizations of which she will become a patron.
The Art Room—a small charity that uses art to increase children’s’ self-esteem— and The National Portrait Gallery reflect Middleton’s interest in art history, which she studied at St. Andrews. East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices provide care and support for children with life-threatening conditions. The Duchess’s final charity, Action on Addiction, operates treatment centers across England.
Middleton also announced that she will volunteer with the Scout Association, which Queen Elizabeth II patrons. The Duchess was a Brownie while growing up and will now work with a scout group in Anglesey.
