Wynwood Arts District Welcomes Mark Lowe’s HOUSE

Wynwood Arts District is an up-and-coming area in Miami that is known for attracting a hipster, trend-setting crowd because of its vast array of street-style art. Wynwood can also be credited with bringing the food truck phenomenon to Miami, where visitors jump from truck to truck, tasting a variety of delicious foods. Joey’s and Wynwood Kitchen and Bar are two of the most popular restaurants in the area, where groups gather to eat, drink and mingle.

February 2012 brings a new element to Wynwood, as the neighborhood will be welcoming its first nightclub, HOUSE. Mark Lowe, a designer and nightlife impresario, is behind Wynwood’s new 9,000-square-foot venue.

“HOUSE will be more of a living, breathing art installation than a nightclub, which is only fitting considering its location,” says Lowe. “My goal is to change the way Miami sees nightlife, and because this is a ‘house,’ all the naughty things you do behind closed doors will be revealed.”

In keeping with Wynwood’s reputation as the “Miami version of New York’s ‘SoHo’ reincarnation, circa 1960s,” some of the unconventional features we will see at HOUSE include kitchens as bars, showers in VIP areas, beds with bed sheets, cocktail waitresses dressed only in crisp men’s T-shirts and pajama-clad bouncers.
