Old Homestead Steakhouse is Now Open at Caesars Palace

You’ve read about Annabelle’s journey from her New York home to her new stomping grounds at Old Homestead Steakhouse at Caesars Palace. Now the historic restaurant has opened the doors of its first West Coast location today. The classic eatery known for its quality steak selections and more than 140-year history is located near the Forum Casino next to Mesa Grill.

We can’t wait to check out the menu that includes some of the iconic dishes from the New York City menu including the popular 32-ounce Gotham rib steak on the bone, USDA prime dry-aged porterhouse designed for multiple people, filet mignon on the bone and the 18-ounce empire cut of prime rib, to name a few. A raw bar offers a wide assortment of seafood dishes such as the shellfish platter, chilled Maine lobster cocktail, colossal shrimp cocktail and East and West Coast oysters.

The restaurant came up with some special items just for Las Vegas. Look for Kobe meatballs, prime short rib in a wine reduction sauce, Grandma’s big fat chocolate cake, S’mores and a homemade chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. Signature sides include homemade tater tots stuffed with cheese and served with “fat boy” sauce (whipped sour cream topped with cheese and bacon bits), potato gnocchi with truffle butter and oversized baked potatoes.

Old Homestead also features more than 15,000 bottles of wine, replicating its list in New York. In addition to the fine selection of wine bottles, there is a wide variety of champagnes and red and white wines available by the glass. For those who prefer a cocktail, the specialty cocktail menu offers a wide array of dessert martinis such as the red velvet cake martini and the pumpkin pie martini. Other selections include winter sangria and winter sparkling, a blueberry sparkling wine.

The restaurant fills more than 6,000 square feet with 250 seats in a full dining room, private dining room, lounge and bar. The space was designed by San Francisco-based EDG Interior Architecture + Design who previously created designs for Rao’s and Bradley Ogden restaurants at Caesars Palace.

The Old Homestead design pays homage to the original steakhouse and its location in New York City’s historic Meatpacking District, while reflecting the neighborhood’s latest incarnation as one of Manhattan’s trendiest and hippest restaurant, entertainment and club districts. One aspect that gives the Las Vegas location a New York feel is the High Line dining area named after the old High Line freight rail that brought meat to the Meatpacking District from 1934 to 1980. Las Vegas customers will also be welcomed by Annabelle, the iconic brown and white cow that has been greeting Old Homestead customers for decades.

The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. daily.

Old Homestead Steakhouse is located at Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. S. For reservations, call 702-862-3530.
