Mikhail Prokhorov is the owner of the New Jersey Nets, the third richest man in Russia and Vladimir Putin’s presidential opponent. For $325,000 per week you can enjoy all the comforts of his luxurious yacht.
As the 32nd richest man in the world according to Forbes, Prokhorov doesn’t exactly need the spare change he’d acquire from chartering his yacht; nonetheless, the Nets owner has decided to charter Solemar for $325,000 per week. This price tag gets you a smooth ride on the spacious 202-foot superyacht, which was built in 2003 by Amels. It has accommodation for up to 12 people who can comfortably live in 6 double suites.
Prokhorov’s Solemar pales in comparison to rival oligarch Roman Abramovich who owns the world’s largest yacht, Eclipse, measuring in at 557 feet.
If Prokhorov does in fact beat Putin in the upcoming presidential elections, his new yacht as president will be even smaller than his current yacht. Dmitry Medvedev (Russia’s current president) reportedly spent $42 million on a 177-foot yacht called Sirius in early 2011.
