Haute Time: Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 12 Automatic Chronograph
Steve McQueen’s favorite watch the Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 12 Automatic Chronograph, has debuted in a new version.
The TAG Heuer Monaco seriesas originally introduced by Heur in 1969 in honor of the Monaco Grand Prix and worn by the Hollywood icon in his 1971 film Le Mans.
The updated classic has is a square case designed rugged blue-faced Tag Heuer, powered by the original Calibre 12 chronograph. The overall crown design honors the original series and featured a sapphire crystal caseback that reveals the movement in action.

When Swiss rival Swatch cut supply lines, Tag Heuer made the announcement that the brand would be sourcing parts from Japanese manufacturer Seiko. The change, the Watchmaker states, would not harm the prized “Swiss made” tag.
