Haute Estate: Fox Residence For Sale in Chatsworth for $12 Million

The Fox Residence in Chatsworth has been listed for $12 million. The 1951 home has a star-studded history with former residents including Dora Hutchinson, Frank Sinatra and even Marilyn Monroe.
Originally built for Chase Manhattan Bank heiress Dora Hutchinson who was known for throwing massive “who’s who” parties for Hollywood elite like Lucille Ball and Ava Gardner. According to the listing, Judy Garland and Vicente Minnelli were married on the property and after Hutchinson moved to New York, she rented the home to Frank Sinatra for almost a decade who then sublet the guesthouse to Marilyn Monroe.
More recently, the home was featured in an episode of Mad Men where it was used as a “home in Palm Springs” for the episode “The Jet Set.” Other cameos include the movies Dreamgirls and Ali and TV show Californication.
The home sits on 14 acres and includes a 10,000 square foot main house with four bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms and a lower-level production studio. It also has a 1,000 square foot guesthouse with one bedroom and one and half bedrooms. The current owners have reportedly updated, restored and decorated the living space.
The home also features a detached gym, a nine and a half acre vineyard and room for parking 200 cars.
According to the listing agent, the home makes a killing as a filming location – as much as $2 million a year and it even comes with its own property manager who deals with and is paid for by the studios.
