Goop App: Experience New York According to Gwyneth Paltrow

Experience New York å la Gwyneth Paltrow. Let me explain: the actress recently launched Goop City—an iPhone and iPad app ($3.99 in the iTunes store) as a spinoff to her ultra popular life advice newsletter and website, Goop. In Goop, Paltrow gives advice on how to eat, live, and shop like she does. Goop City will be a series of city specific selections, and New York is the first one to launch. Here she confides her choices for food, walks, hotels, bars, culture, shops and beauty in Manhattan and the boroughs.
Paltrow’s Big Apple recommendations are suited perfectly for luxury lovers. One selection includes stopping by Odegard, “One of the best carpet stores,” where “Goopers” (and shoppers alike) can purchase $123 per square foot of pure Himalayan wool rug with special vegetable dyes.
She curated a list of more than a dozen restaurants, which includes Café Habana in SoHo and even has a “Day in New York” section which features videos of the actress doing her favorite things in New York. Other samples of the 220 recommendations (and growing) include acupuncturists, plastic surgeons, and even the OB/GYN who delivered Moses. She explained in her newsletter that the inspiration for Goop City was years of being misguided, so she wanted to create a city guide that can function like a “trusted friend”
Expect Goop City guides for London and Los Angeles next.
