Winter in Venice Comes to the Venetian and Palazzo Nov. 21 with Jordin Sparks Headlining

Winter in Venice features an ice skating rink in front of the Venetian.

Forty-nine days of winter get their own celebration beginning Nov. 21 when the Venetian and Palazzo kick off Winter in Venice. This first for the resorts launches with Jordin Sparks, the Grammy-nominated singer from “American Idol,” singing in front of the Venetian from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in a free event.

This is just the first of many special events that will take place during the festival that features an outdoor ice skating rink on the Strip. The outside will be decorated with 30 snowflakes ranging from 48 to 72 inches in diameter, strung overhead with 2,000 holiday lights and a 65-foot LED holiday tree with strolling candy cane stilt walkers, puppets, jugglers and magicians entertaining.

The night also kicks off the inaugural showing of the Winter in Venice “Nightly Holiday Spectacular,” a holiday and light show that includes a majestic angel, tenor statues, dancing violinists and the lighting of a 65-foot LED holiday tree. The show will take place nightly at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. nightly at the Venetian’s Doge’s Palace.

The outdoor ice skating rink at the Venetian’s front exterior is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for $19 for a 30-minute session.
Inside, guests can find holiday-themed prix fixe menus and specials at Aquaknox, B&B Ristorante, Bouchon, Canaletto, Canyon Ranch Café, Delmonico, First Food & Bar, Grand Lux Cafe, Pinot Brasserie, Postrio, Table 10, Lavo Italian Restaurant and Valentino. Order up Sweet Surrender’s limited-time eggnog cupcakes and Café Presse’s seasonal Winter in Venice hot chocolates as well.

At Canyon Ranch SpaClub, request the winter solstice massage with silent night bath and nourishing skin oils, a deep-moisturizing winter solstice cocoon full-body wrap or the holiday radiance facial.

The Palazzo’s waterfall, atrium and gardens also feature hand-designed snowflakes suspended midair in the three-floor-high atrium. Ice branches and 20-foot frosted birch, pine and glittering trees hang against the picturesque waterfall and crystal ice ponds as majestic hand-crafted white and pearl peacock statues overlook guests. The winter gardens will also feature red beaded ornaments, pine cones and fresh poinsettias.
