Haute Living Los Angeles March/April 2012
Toast of the town

Had your fill of sandwiches and scones? For a new take on afternoon tea, head to HIX Soho where you can enjoy a bit of crumpet.

Chef Mark Hix has teamed up with Henrietta Lovell of the Rare Tea Company to pair crumpets with complimentary tea blends. Hix has also called on controversial artist Tracey Emin to design the crockery and master mixologist Nick Strangeway, to create some sensational tea cocktails.

Traditional tea aficionados will want to order the East London honey and butter with Hix Blend afternoon tea (£6.75) but Haute Living is looking forward to tucking into the chocolate topping, with silver tip jasmine tea (£7.95).

You’ll also find a West Country crumpet with raspberry jam & clotted cream with HIX Blend afternoon tea (£6.75), Welsh rabbit fondue with Oolong tea (£7.95) and Potted smoked salmon ‘Hix cure’ & pickled cucumber with Whole leaf green tea (£7.95) on the menu.

Crumpets and tea are served from 3pm-5.30pm daily. To make a reservation call 020 7292 3518 or visit www.hixsoho.com.

Let's be real; fashion week is just as much about the looks and the runway shows as it is about the parties. At that, I took the liberty of rounding up some of the hautest happenings around town this weekend in celebration of all things couture.
