The Wait Is Over: Local 1205 Opens in Venice

Source: Grub Street

Despite a few hiccups along the way, Local 1205 has finally opened its doors to the Los Angeles public. The raw food-focused eatery is situated on Abbot Kinney in Venice and is part gourmet market, part cafe. The Otherroom’s Craig Weiss has assembled a powerhouse culinary team to get the shop up and running.

Matthew Rutledge from Murray’s Cheese is running the speciality foods department, GM Juan Hernandez is handling the cold pressed juice and smoothie program, and Kim Gile is the GM in charge of the prepared foods. The menu features charcuterie, assortments of cheese, gourmet made-to-order sandwiches, tonic-infused smoothies, artisan breads, homemade desserts, fresh cut flowers, organic seasonal produce, and more.

As of now, there are no set hours, but Weiss says the shop will eventually be open from 8-3 a.m. daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night noshing.
