Sirio Maccioni Opens Le Cirque at Leela Palace in New Delhi, India

Famed restaurateur Sirio Maccioni opened his first Le Cirque in Asia at the luxurious Leela Palace in New Delhi, India. Le Cirque, which has been in New York for 36 years, is known for its Italian and French-inspired classics.

In his quest to conquer the culinary world, Maccioni opened the New Delhi Le Cirque in September at the Leela Palace New Delhi, known to be the most expensive hotel ever built in India.

The space was designed by Spin Studio of Japan and features a bar and lounge, al fresco seating, an open kitchen and three spacious dining rooms. On the menu, guests will find many of the classics that have enticed celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Bill Clinton over the years, including Sirio’s pasta primavera, Mama Egi’s ravioli, tuna in pistachio crust and, of course, the famed Floating Island “Le Cirque” dessert.

There is also an impressive selection of vegetarian dishes that have been added to the menu in keeping with local Indian dining preferences.

Maccioni said, “We are thrilled with the response we are getting to Le Cirque at the Leela Palace New Delhi. Our goal is to bring a luxury dining experience consistent with international standards of excellence to the expanding and discerning clientele in India.”

On this latest endeavor, Maccioni teamed up with Capt. C.P. Krishnan Nair, chairman of Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. Nair, how is 89, didn’t launch his hotel group until he was 65 years old. Today, there are seven Leela properties in India – Mumbai, Udaipur, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Goa, Kovalam and New Delhi.
