Restaurant Week Raises Money For Culinary Campus
by Catherine E. Toth

Love to eat out?

Then this is your lucky week.

Monday kicks off the 4th annual Restaurant Week Hawaii, a seven-day celebration of Hawaii’s cuisine scene. Participating restaurants — from fine dining to fast food — will feature special menus items, promotions and discounts.

And while you can sample some of the Islands’ best restaurants or revisit the classics, Restaurant Week is actually a benefit for the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at the base of Diamond Head on Oahu. It’s a proposed advanced culinary campus that will serve Hawaii’s restaurant and hospitality industries.

Restaurants offering special menus include Roy’s Restaurant, Tango Market, Stage Restaurant, JJ Dolan’s, Cane & Taro, and Alan Wong’s (its mini loco moco with mochi-crusted unagi meat loaf and a sunny-side quail egg picture above).

Proceeds support the building of this culinary institute. And you get to eat it.
