November Beauty Buzz

Treat yourself to a pick-me-up with a visit to these buzz-worthy beauty spots. Both of these newly opened venues are modern, chic and fun – perfect places to primp before a big night out!

Drybar
4 West 16th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues

Another California import, Drybar‘s stylists focus on one thing and one thing only: achieving the perfect blowout. Clients of this in-and-out salon chose one of six cocktail-named hair styles, such as the Mai-Tai (messy beach hair) or  Cosmopolitan (loose curls on the bottom) from a look book and can purchase packages, dubbed as “bar tabs.” Individual blowouts are $40, no matter what hair type or length, and memberships are also available for the serious “barflys.” Clients can enjoy a complimentary mimosa or coffee while watching chick flicks and enjoying the chic gray, yellow and white space. The store opens at 7am during the week, so clients can pop in for a quick ‘do before the work day even begins. A second NYC location, at the Parker Meridien, opens soon.

Benefit Boutique SoHo

454 West Broadway, between Houston and Prince

San Francisco cosmetics brand Benefit has been a mainstay in beauty and department stores for years. Offering kitschy-packaged makeup with quirky names and a feel-good philosophy, their award-winning products, such as benetint, dandelion and BADgal lash, are cult favorites and must haves. Benefit’s recently opened New York flagship, located in SoHo, doubles as a beauty bar, with seasoned staff assisting with a bevy of beauty services including famous brow waxings and “make-uppers.” Girls of all ages will love the two-story, 2,000-square-foot pink palace, complete with floral wallpaper, sprakly chandeliers and vanities galore. The store can accommodate a range of private events – a perfect way to leave a group of women blushing.
