Scandanavian luxury lifestyle brand Georg Jensen offers high-end wares from watches to jewelry to home decor to most notably, silver. While the iconic brand’s founder passed away in the early 20th century, his legacy lives on.

The son of a knife grinder in Copenhagen, the Danish Georg Arthur Jensen started his apprenticeship in goldsmithing at age 14. Eager to become a sculptor, he enrolled in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. After he graduated, Jensen embarked on the journey that would lead him to create one of the finest and most well respected silver houses in existence.

From working as an artist in the clay sculpture realm, to dabbling in porcelain as a modeller at the Bing &Grøndahl factory, Jensen was simply getting his feet wet and exploring where to best put his talents to use. Pottery, design and a slew of other experiences led him to the 1904 aperture of his very own start-up silver house in Copenhagen—a momentous event which he met armed with both his innate artistic talent and intricate training in metalsmithing.

Flash forward to today and the Georg Jensen name is synonymous with the empire he built. With outposts in every corner of the globe, Europe to the United States, Asia to Australia, Georg Jensen boutiques act as a shining beacon drawing in upscale international clientele. Perhaps their reach can be attributed to the brand’s aesthetic, which includes everything from the fluid and organic to the intricate. Cutlery with artfully crafted acorn accents dance gracefully alongside sleek, modern candelabras in the house that Jensen built.

But the buck doesn’t stop at home decor. Georg Jensen’s jewelry – one of his first ventures into the design world- and Swizz-made watch collections have been capturing the attention of the most discerning consumers the world over for their quality of construction and innovative design elements. Collaborations with the world’s most widely recognized designers keep said elements current. From Karim Rashid to Henning Koppel, only the most talented individuals have made their mark on the Jensen brand; A brand that is currently represented by a campaign donning the face of famed supermodel and fellow Dane FrejaBeha, captured by an equally stellar talent, photographer Sebastian Faena.

In these, the latest visual representations of the most current Jensen jewelry collections, Beha presents both Fusion, a collection of undulating, stackable rings, bracelets, earrings and pendants in white or yellow gold, with or without diamonds, and Moonlight Grapes, a series featuring a grape motif as realized in the very modern Jensen way.

And while the development of new collections takes Georg Jensen decidedly into the future, we look to those pieces, which have been there since the onset, to drive the core message home. Take the Daisy collection, for instance, created in 1940 to honor the birth of Denmark’s Princess Margrethe, aptly nicknamed Daisy, which is still worn today by Queen Margrethe II—a clear nod to the brand’s royal stamp of approval.
