Haute 100 Update: Shakira to be Honored with ‘Walk of Fame’ Star

Latin music superstar Shakira is being honored with the 2,354th star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tues., Nov. 8. The 34-year-old Colombian singer and philanthropist’s star will be located in front of the W Hollywood Hotel at the corner of Hollywood and Vine.
The day after the inauguration of her Walk of Fame star, Shakira will also be recognized and honored as ‘Person of the Year’ by the Latin Recording Academy for her achievements in the Latin music industry, as well as other efforts.
Shakira is being recognized with the star on the iconic pavement for her achievements in the recording category, but she has made immense philanthropic strides with her Fundación Pies Descalzos (Barefoot Foundation) as well.
The revered Latin musician has been well recognized for her dedication to education and was thus recently appointed a position on President Obama’s Presidential Advisory Committee on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
Shakira’s star on the Walk of Fame is undoubtedly well deserved.
