For One Night Only: Chef Douglas Rodriguez Invites Chef Daniel Orr Into his Kitchen

South of fifth is an area on South Beach that is home to some of the best restaurants in Miami, including Joe’s Stone Crab, both Primes, Kane Steakhouse and De Rodriguez Cuba on Ocean. De Rodriguez Cuba on Ocean is located at the Hilton Bentley hotel and features a 25-foot marble raw bar. Chef Douglas Rodriguez creates “Nuevo Latino” cuisine by taking classic recipes, such as a Peruvian ceviche and Spanish paella, and adding an element of Cuban flavor.
For one night only, Chef Douglas Rodriguez will hand his kitchen over to Chef Daniel Orr, the mastermind behind FARMbloomington and the author of Paradise Kitchen: Caribbean Cooking. The special occasion will take place on Thursday, November 17th from 6-10:30PM. The four-course meal will include the following:
Drink: Island Rum Punch
Amuse: Callaloo & Black Eyed Pea Fritters with Papaya Banana Catsup
1st Course: Marinated Conch with Citrus & Coconut Milk
2nd Course: Island Fish Water
3rd Course: Jerk Rubbed Filet Mignon with Steamed Kale and Callaloo with Cornmeal Fungi
4th Course: Warm Gateau of Coconut, Chocolate Dipped Caribbean Cashew Brittle with Coconut Sorbet
