Cocktail Culture: Celebrate Repeal Day with Vintage Cocktails at RM Seafood

The Spice Box Bee’s Knees is just one of the drinks you can swill when RM Seafood celebrates Repeal Day.
We love an excuse to drink vintage cocktails, and this Monday, Rick Moonen rolls out drinks from the Prohibition era to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Repeal Day. RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay is holding a happy hour bash from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday with guests in period costumes, small plates and cocktails reminiscent of the era.
RM Seafood’s lead bartender JR Starkus is creating vintage drink specials such as Bee’s Knees featuring Spicebox Whiskey and a Plymouth Gin Punch. The restaurant will also offer a variety of small plates inspired by the speakeasy era, ranging from $3 to $5.
Show up in period attire and nab $5 vintage cocktail specials; and wiseguys (and gals) in-the-know who learn the secret password from RM Seafood’s Facebook and Twitter pages will receive their first cocktail for only $1, just like a true speakeasy.
The menu includes cold oysters with caviar, crème fraiche and chives, hot oyster’s Rockefeller, smoked salmon and cucumber tea sandwiches, deviled eggs, ricotta meatballs and mixed nuts.
In the meantime, you can prep for the night with a vintage cocktail from Starkus’ menu.
