Apple Unveils New $6 Million Fifth Avenue Store Cube

Never ceasing to amaze customers, Apple has just redone it’s Fifth Avenue store cube to be more elegant and seamless.

At Apple’s New York City flagship store on Fifth Avenue, the glass cube entrance has been redesigned. The number of glass panes was reduced from 90 to 15.

By using larger, seamless pieces of glass, the new cube façade is less complicated than it’s original design. The redesign cost $6.6 million.

Sometimes referred to as “Steve Jobs’ Louvre,” the flagship store is a testament to how Jobs aimed for perfection, tweaking the cube to be sleeker, simpler and less complicated. Extra hardware on the glass was removed and small bollards that previously surrounded the cube on the plaza were eliminated.
