Anna Weinberg is the powerhouse restaurateur behind two of San Francisco’s most popular restaurants, Marlowe and Park Tavern.  This New Zealand native’s sparkling personality paired with her attention to detail has made a notable impression in the culinary world.

Marlowe, a bustling neighborhood bistro, has lit a spark in the SoMa neighborhood since its opening.  In September, only a year and a half after the debut of Marlowe, Weinberg opened Park Tavern, a swanky American tavern located in the historic North Beach neighborhood.  Both restaurants are big hits with neighborhood locals and A-listers alike. This culinary power player is one busy lady who manages her time and her life with precision, but still found time to give Haute Living a glimpse inside a normal day.

8:30 AM

I wake up and swim to get my energy flowing. Afterward, I connect with my husband over coffee.

10:00 AM

By 10 a.m., I arrive at Park Tavern, head to the flower market, or do something work-related.  Three days of the week, I’ll hop over to Marlowe for lunch service.

11:00 AM– 3:30 PM

First, I look through the reservations to see who is coming in for the next seven days.  I also take time to sift through numerous e-mails. Then I sit down with my managers to figure out what should be worked on that day, as we’re always striving to improve.  We then meet with the kitchen staff to talk about the menu.

4:00 PM

I plot the floor and figure out who is sitting where. At the beginning of the shift, I meet with my entire staff and offer them insights and inspiration.

11:30 PM

I sit down with my staff and order from the menu. We discuss what went well and what needs improvement. We all try to eat by midnight.

2:30 AM

I arrive home, and I’m in bed by 3:00 a.m.
