This month saw the launch of popular Sugar Daddy’s Bakery and Café’s new brand Hey Sugar. The trendy Dubai and Abu Dhabi-based bakery became known for its decedent cupcakes and sweet treats called ‘Hey Sugar.’ The new brand aims to deliver an innovative range of delicious desserts as well as a higher standard of service and quality.

Hey Sugar is the product of husband and wife team, Dana Jallad and Raed Saqfelhait, the founders and managing directors of Sugar Daddy’s Bakery and Café LLC in Dubai. The new brand will launch at Sugar Daddy’s existing nine locations, five of which are dine-in cafes on Jumeirah Beach Residence, Park Island- Dubai Marina, Mirdiff City Centre, Galleries Lafayette at the Dubai Mall and Al Khalidiyah Mall in Abu Dhabi in addition to the original location at the Village Mall which stands today at more than double its original size.  All locations offer a modern yet cozy environment against the backdrop of its signature mint green and white striped walls, a look which the new brand will continue to carry. Customers can indulge in an ever growing number of cupcakes flavours and sweet treats like whoopie pies, banoffee pies, cookies, brownies, cake pops, breakfast loaves and cakes, as well as a selection of gourmet coffees, teas and speciality cupcakes.

“This is the perfect time to launch Hey Sugar, as our concept is preparing to expand regionally and internationally. We wanted to introduce a name that is culturally more acceptable to our customer base yet maintain the fun personality of our brand. We are ready to embrace our new identity and have great aspirations for our brand. We really want Hey Sugar to offer an even sweeter experience,” says Dana Jallad.

This year will also feature the regional growth of Hey Sugar as new locations open in Saudi and Qatar.  “We are quite excited about our rapid expansion plans in the UAE and the region as a whole. Our goal is to expand our new brand through Joint venture partnerships. Currently we have five additional locations that are under fit out in various prime locations within the UAE, which will take us to 14 locations in the UAE by year end including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain,” says Raed Saqfelhait, who joined Dana to develop and expand the business.

Hey Sugar, also features a special children’s and social bakery concept called “Mix Batter and Bake” for children’s birthday parties, baking classes and corporate events. This is the place where patrons can experiment at baking and decorating their own creations!  “We have always prided ourselves on being innovative in everything we do” adds Dana. “With this new JBR location we are looking to interact with our customers in a new and fun way.  We want people to come to Hey Sugar!
