  • EAT: Mercato di Vetro, West Hollywood

Fresh Italian cuisine and craft libations are being served up at Mercato di Vetro in WeHo.

SBE‘s newest addition to it’s award-winning restaurant and hospitality lineup is Mercato di Vetro. This ambitious Italian eatery, a marketplace, restaurant and bar helmed by corporate chef Danny Elmaleh,  multiple kitchens, two floors and an amzing floor-to-ceiling glass wine case connecting the venue on Santa Monica Blvd.

The design of this amazing space, accented with gray marble and reclaimed wood, includes four kitchens: one for antipasti, cheese and charcuterie, which is lined with bar seats; an open kitchen with a wood-burning oven for pizza and a pasta-making area; a cocktail kitchen for in-house syrups; and a traditional restaurant kitchen for all the composed dishes. See Mercato di Vetro’s Menu Here.

Mercato di Vetro is a perfect addition to SBE’s portfolio of always-booked restaurants and, is their first attempt at Italian cuisine. Judging from the menu that we’ve seen, they got it right! After your 5 course meal in the open cafe-style eatery, grab an espresso to avoid food coma. Check out the Ferrari-red, custom espresso machine that serves your Italian espresso extra hot! Buon Appetito!

  • DRINK: One Eyed Gypsy, Downtown LA

One Eyed Gypsy is like a fun trip to the carnival…atnight…at a bar… Well… you’ll see what we’re talking about.

One Eyed Gypsy is like a fun trip to the carnival…at night…at a bar… Well, you’ll see. Keep reading.

This newly-added Downtown hotspot is the coolest concept to hit the DTLA bar scene! A carnival-themed bar with live performances, a multi-room layout, hand drawn wallpaper, chandeliers made from Bedouin jewelry, and pictures of Medusa, owner Dana Hollister – developer, restauranteur, and interior designer behind Villains Tavern,Cliff’s Edge4100 Bar and a slew of other F&B establishments – personally designed this awesome space where you can grab a craft cocktail or beer and play a round of SkeeBall!. Carnival-style food? OF COURSE! Expect a fried food feast with corn dogs, sweet potato tots and funnel cakes.

As a perfect pairing to your corn dog, drink a Sloe Gin Float with cider, a Sweet & Sour or the Riddler’s Punch (vodka, red wine, blood orange, lemon & lime, bitters). And to enhance your bar/carnival-going experience, enjoy live indie rock bands, ukelele players and magicians or predict your future with the fortune-teller machine and love-o-meter. You can’t leave this place without challenging your friend or a complete stranger to an intense round of skee ball! You’ll win tickets redeemable for drinks & food. Good Times!
