For their Haute Horlogerie collection, luxe time brand Girard-Perregaux offers a contemporary spin on the Classic Tourbillon timepiece, the Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges.
The watch, a monochrome assembly in white gold, is one of fifty in a limited edition collection. Based on the 1860’s creation of Constant Girard-Perregaux and awarded first class prize at the Neuchatel Observatory, this Vintage 1945 with three gold Bridges celebrates its contemporaries with modern lines.
The rhodium-plated skeleton bridges with their pure, contemporary geometry are the fruit of meticulous preparation: they are first delicately hollowed then carefully hand-polished. It takes seven days to achieve a perfect finish, especially in all the interior angles. The Tourbillon is also the focus of special attention, with its 72 components that have to beperfectly assembled within a diameter of 12 millimetres.
The Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges features an automatic winding movement designed – thanks to the Manufacture’s patented platinum micro-rotor mechanism incorporated under the barrel – to show to full advantage the architecture of the movement.
The rectangular case is inspired by 1945 Art Deco, with a case-back of sapphire glass and the black, hand-sewn, alligator strap is completed with a folding clasp in white gold.
