Haute Event Recap: Whimsical Fun at SFPT’s Party for the Parks

On September 23, 2011, the San Francisco Parks Trust (SFPT) hosted Party for the Parks, a magical celebration to raise funds for San Francisco’s parks.

The landscape of Golden Gate Park bestowed an air of inspiration as guests arrived.  The event began with amusement as guests spun around on the historic carousel, played carnival games, enjoyed face-painting, and sipped cocktails.

The festivities then moved inside to the exquisitely decked tents where guests enjoyed a lavish catered dinner, cocktails, and invigorating dancing.

Honorary Co-Chair, Mayor Edwin Lee, took to the stage expressing the importance of keeping San Francisco’s parks alive.  He then graciously thanked guests for their continued support of the SFPT.

The evening concluded with a 10-minute auction of fantastic prizes, which included a baseball clinic with the San Francisco Giants, a one-week vacation at the Park Commissioner’s Cabin in the High Sierras, a party at the historic Golden Gate Park Carousel, and a private dinner by Chef Dominique Crenn.
