Haute 100 Update: Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff Reunite in the Studio for some New Music
Will Smith – also nostalgically known as The Fresh Prince – and DJ Jazzy Jeff are back at it again! After first hitting the scene in the late 80s, the duo is once again reuniting in the studio to work on some new music.
“He came down like two weeks ago and was like, ‘Yo, I wanna get back into the studio, and we just knocked out some stuff,'” explained DJ Jazzy Jeff to XXL Magazine.
Their work, however, is still very much in its early phases. Jazzy admitted that he “hasn’t decided exactly” what he wants to do yet, but is willing to just experiment with his old pal and see what comes up.
“I just think more than anything there is no set pattern, no set plan, but we just wanna go into the studio and see what we come out with,” he said. “If I can get it back to the way we used to make music, you know, it used to be just me and him in the room. You don’t need no entourages and cameras and all of that and see what happens.”
