Haute 100 Update: Sean Wolfington’s ‘The Mighty Macs’ to Premiere this Friday

Technology pioneer and filmmaker Sean Wolfington will be premiering his newest film, The Mighty Macs, this Friday, Oct. 21. Based on the incredible true story of the 1971-72 Immaculata College team, the film tells the uplifting tale behind the crowning of the first women’s basketball championship.

Wolfington – who was named Haute Living’s Entrepreneur of the Year – brings his filmmaking talents to the inspirational story of the pioneering team, from barely being able to make it through their inaugural tournament to coming out on top of their game. Cathy Rush, a woman who would become a legend, further changed the game forever when she was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Mighty Macs stars Carla Gugino, David Boreanaz, NBA referee Ed Rush, Marley Shelton, and Ellen Burstyn. The Sony Pictures film opens in over 1,000 theaters this Friday, Oct. 21.
