Haute 100 Update: Carlos Santana Makes Special Appearance for Charity Concert in Mexico

Guitar legend Carlos Santana thrilled a crowd of over 20,000 people on Saturday, Oct. 15 when he took the stage at a charity concert at the Estadio Nou Camp in Leon, Mexico. Santana, a native to Mexico, rocked the house that night, taking a break from his shows in Las Vegas to play his only gig in Mexico for the year.

The concert was attended by former Mexican President Vicente Fox and his wife, Marta Sahugan, who organized the event to raise funds for children’s groups.

“We here in Mexico have more resources than England, Germany, the United States and Japan. We can do it, all we need is to be united, to believe in ourselves, to have faith in each other, to have compassion and faith that the best for Mexico is ahead of us,” said Santana.

Santana had the crowd going wild with selections from his latest studio album, Guitar Heaven, classics like “Black Magic Woman” and “Oye Como Va”, as well as parts of Jimi Hendrix’s hit, “Purple Haze.”
