Haute 100 Update: Aby Rosen Purchases Historic Goodyear Mansion [PHOTOS]

New York City real estate tycoon Aby Rosen is well known for his love of art and his passion for collecting – and his latest acquisition shows it. He recently closed on the historic A. Conger Goodyear House in Old Westbury, NY for $3.4 million.

The house was built by Edward Durell Stone in 1938 and spans a spacious 5.5 acres. Renowned interior designer Eric Cohler, who boasts a Master’s degree from Columbia University in historic preservation, purchased the house back in 2007 and spent over $2 million to restore and renovate it.

“I gave it as much love and money as I could for four years,” explained Cohler. “I rescued it and restored it to collector’s quality. Aby will bring it to the next level — museum quality. If anyone is the right steward for this home, it’s Aby.”

The asking price was $4.599 million, but was sold to the revered real estate icon for $3.4 million. The gorgeous, light-filled mansion has been reported to have been purchased for Rosen’s personal use.
