Event Recap: Lake Tahoe Wellness Weekend

Beauty and fitness practitioners from across California led classes during the fourth annual Lake Tahoe Wellness Weekend, held Oct. 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe.

The three-day gathering included exercise workshops, nutrition and wellness seminars, wine tasting and beauty presentations. San Francisco personal trainer Alyona Aikina, a former member of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team, led ballet fusion and body dynamics classes. Licensed psychotherapist and life coach Zoe Gerlach, who practices in San Francisco, discussed positive psychology and techniques for embracing one’s best self. Patrice Abood of High Altitude Fitness in Lake Tahoe was among several instructors offering yoga classes in lake-view facilities at the resort, and Greg Stickley of HydraFacial introduced his company’s specialized skin resurfacing treatments.

Guests also enjoyed a Zumba lesson, belly dancing instruction, a cooking demonstration by resort chef Rick Koplau and treatments at the on-site Stillwater Spa. During down time, attendees took advantage of the autumn sunshine by hiking, exploring Incline Village and relaxing at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe’s private beach.

Dates for the 2012 Lake Tahoe Wellness Weekend will be announced in early 2012. For information, or to make resort reservations, visit www.laketahoe.hyatt.com or call (775) 832-1234.
