Haute Event: Sanford and Joan Weill Host Cocktail Reception CSUS Music Center

To introduce their newest project – The Green Music Center on the campus of Sonoma State University,  Sanford and Joan Weill  hosted a cocktail party on September  6th.

Approximately 60 guests attended the celebration at the couple’s countryside home in Sonoma. World famous pianist Lang Lang attended along with Frances Bowes, KQED’s John Boland, Symphony board members Nancy Conner, Maryon Davies Lewis, and Genelle Relfe; Maria Manetti Farrow and Jan Shrem; Ann and Robert Fisher; Herb and Jane Dwight; Cherie and Keith Hughes; Maribelle and Stephen Leavitt; JaMel and Tom Perkins; Norman Person; Helen and Victoria Raiser; George Sarlo; Cal Performances Director Matias Tarnopolsky and his wife, Birgit Hottenrot; UC Berkeley’s Vice Chancellor Frank Yeary and his wife, Lesley; and Eileen and Henry Tirone. Many Green Music Center Board Members also attended including Rebecca and Tom Birdsall, Sonoma State University President Ruben Arminana and his wife, Marne Olsen, John Webley, Judy and Les Vadasz, and Sue and Dan Lanahan.

The Weills’ $12 million gift of the Green Music Center will enable the University to complete the spectacular concert hall and adjoining lawn and commons performance venues. This is the largest single cash gift in the University’s history
