Owners of Michael Jackson’s Rental Home Sue Star Map Lady
by Alison Agudo

The owners of the North Carolwood Drive home that Michael Jackson was renting when he died are suing Linda Welton, the woman who sells maps showing movie stars’ homes, because she is just feet from the Jackson house and they claim she is bringing down their homes’ property value.

Welton is somewhat famous with anyone who drives on Sunset Boulevard in the exclusive area where Michael Jackson was renting the home. Her business is booming since Jackson died and that’s possibly because she is selling her star maps in plain view of the Jackson house.

TMZ obtained the lawsuit in which the owners, Hubert and Roxanne Guez, claim they cannot sell the house because “Potential buyers are bothered upon approach by the quite visible and annoying constant illegal stopping and/or parking of cars in front of the home on what otherwise would be a quiet residential street.”

The owners also claim that their property value has significantly decreased because of the constant stream of traffic, Welton’s lawn chair, coolers and large patio umbrella and the illegally parked cars. The Guezs also say that Welton is violating the law by essentially having a “newsstand on a street corner”.

Welton’s perception on the matter is that she is running the same business her mom did and her mom has already gone to court and won a lawsuit giving her the right to sell the maps. Welton claims this new lawsuit is simply harassment.

Welton says, “I think I’m an easy target.” When a TMZ camera man asked her if her being out there brought down property values at all, she replied, “No, in fact, I think it enhances it for people that are open as they were when they first purchased the home. She bought this in 2004…All of a sudden her world’s crumbling, property is depreciating and yet I’m the whole problem? I’m not worried at all.”
