New CEO and Chairman Of Hewlett-Packard: Meg Whitman

Photo: Pulse2

Meg Whitman has just been named CEO and Chairman of Hewlett-Packard after Leo Apotheker announced his resignation yesterday. Whitman, former CEO of eBay, is also known for her campaign for California Governor. Although her political campaign was unsuccessful, her reign at eBay was more than enough to shoot her to the top of the business bracket. During her time with the large internet auction house, Whitman increased the company’s size, profits and reputation. HP hopes that she will have the same positive influence on the company and be able to reverse some of the damage done in previous years by other CEOs.
