Making Calls From a Bar of Gold
by HauteLiving

Copenhagen based Æsir has teamed up with Yves Béhar to design the AE+Y Phone, an 18-carat solid gold handset going for 42,000 euro or about $58,000. There is also a stainless steal version going for $10,000, which is still astronomical for a phone who’s feature list includes: “speed dial, call screening, forwarding and waiting, Bluetooth® and conference calls” . At least it’s not sim locked. Technologically your average iPhone or Android phone can run circles around this thing, but whoever owns this phone is obviously too busy spinning gold to play Angry Birds.

The phone is available for pre-order on the company’s website.
