Luca Luca held its designer trunk show at Trump Soho, and attracted quite the crowd.  Trump SoHo invited many of the city’s top female brokers to view Luca Luca’s 2012 spring collection in one of the hotel condominium’s luxury penthouses with a gorgeous view of the city below.

The women, including Elizabeth Stribling, the president of Stribling, Barbara Fox, the president of Fox Residential, and Kathy Kaye, Trump’s executive vice president of sales, sipped on champagne and snacked on macaroons and chocolate truffles as models showcased designer confections. Ivanka Trump’s jewelry line was also there for the trying on.

“This building is very different than what the perception of the Trump brand is – gilded and uptown,” said Luca Luca creative director Raul Mendoza, who said he’s trying to infuse more of a hip downtown sensibility into the traditionally polished uptown brand.

Units at Trump SoHo start at just above $1 million. Buyers can stay for a maximum of 120 nights a year and get an in-unit storage room – the rest of the time, their units are used as hotel rooms. The hotel room rates start at $499 per night.

“I’m astounded by how beautiful it is,” said Fredrick Elklund, who recently joined Trump SoHo’s sales team and was one of the few men at the party. “I’ve been in New York nine years – I’m a jaded broker. I never get goose bumps. But with the view here I do every time.”
