Le Caprice is 30

Iconic London restaurant, Le Caprice, has reopened its doors after a refurbishment to celebrate its 30th birthday.

In keeping with the monochromatic aura of the Arlington Street restaurant, a new black marble floor has been laid and edged with pristine white marble.

The bar also reflect these materials and remains a focal point of the restaurant; a place for a pre or post dinner drink or for up to 12 diners to enjoy the full à la carte menu whilst seated on chrome pedestal barstools with black leather cushioned seats and backs.

The original bomb-proof windows have been replaced with new windows etched with the familiar Caprice logo while the restaurant also now offers alfresco dining with five tables (up to 15 covers) on its news terrace. Royal blue Caprice awnings are in place to provide some cover.

To celebrate its 30th, the classic St James is offering any diners who was also born in 1981 (proof of age required) a complimentary glass of Champagne. There’s also a ‘heritage’ cocktail list available, featuring signature drinks from across the last three decades. Expect to sup on a 1980s Bramble, a 1990s Tommy’s Margarita (Herradura Antiguo mixed with agave nectar and lime juice), a Noughties’ Twinkle and a St James – the brand new 30th-anniversary cocktail.
