Haute Real Estate: New Housing Opportunities in Bridgehampton

Home sales have begun to rebound again in the Bridgehampton and Sagaponack areas. Although houses with higher asking prices are still experiencing a lack of interest from buyers, Bridgehampton remains, as home builder Joe Farrel of Farrel Building Company states, “the hottest market [and] the easiest place to sell houses.”

Bridgehampton, best known for its hosting of the Hampton classic horse show and the seasonal polo tournaments at the Bridgehampton Polo Club, has begun to acquire a livelier downtown atmosphere, drawing more residents to extend their stays into the winter and some to acquire permanent residences in the area.

A new home on Highland Terrace, currently available for $8.495 million, is a cottage style home, 6400 square feet in size, with seven bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a gym and a theater. It is a two story home with its own heated pool, spa and rec room.

Also on the market, at 140 Sagaponack road, is a four bed, three and a half bathroom home, currently priced at $3.35 million. The house is sized at 3300 square feet and includes a double fireplace, a two car garage and a pool.

One of the many perks to the area are its beautiful parks. One of these parks is the Poxablogue County Park. With its 26 acres, half mile hiking trail, marshlands and fields, it remains the most popular family park in the area. The restaurants in the area include Pierre’s French Bistro, known for its large seafood menu; Almond, another popular French restaurant in the area; Bobby Van’s, a locally known Bridgehampton steakhouse; and Candy Kitchen, a diner famous for its ice cream and milkshakes.

For High End shopping, luxury buyers may be interested in East Hampton and South Hampton Village for some of the best department stores and boutiques. Bridgehampton Commons Shopping Center provides such international chains as Gap, Banana Republic and Williams-Sonoma.
