Haute Event: KRS One Goes Old School at Lavo

Hip-hop legend KRS One takes his party into the crowd at Lavo.

KRS One returned to Lavo’s Old School Wednesdays and the crowd was filled with anticipation after hearing stories of the last time “The Teacha” performed at the hot spot at the Palazzo. The rap and hip-hop artist teased the crowd a bit, getting on the mic from his table and ramping them up for his set.

He jumped in the booth and did some mic work for a bit with DJ Five before taking the stage, much to the crowd’s delight. His infectious energy had the crowd going right away as every single person in the room kept their eyes (and camera phones) on him. KRS One delivered a high-impact set that included a few of his old school hits, a couple of newer songs and more than a few free styles that mesmerized the crowd as he educated the packed club on old school hard core hip-hop.

KRS One finished the night by thanking the crowd for being his “personal publicists.” He filmed his performance, and then made his way to the middle of the crowded dance floor to mingle among fans old and new.

Anyone who missed this epic performance can check out KRS One tonight as he makes a special appearance at Tao’s Worship Thursday at the Venetian.
