Haute 100 Update: Mark Wahlberg Wants to Make an ‘Entourage’ Movie

After eight seasons, the beloved hit HBO comedy-drama Entourage had its final episode on Sept. 11 – but that’s not the final end of it if actor and the show’s executive producer Mark Wahlberg has his way. While on the red carpet for the Emmy Awards on Sunday, he expressed interest in making an Entourage movie.

Wahlberg commented, “We’ve been talking about the movie non-stop. That’s the goal.”

The series debuted in 2004 and quickly became hugely popular. Said to be loosely based on Wahlberg’s own experiences as an up-and-coming actor, the celebrity-laden show received acclaim under the series’ creator and writer Doug Ellin.

Inklings of an Entourage movie have been floating around for some months now. Back in July at the TV critics press tour, Ellin said, “We’re going to do a movie. We’re going to do it. It’s a question of when and how quick. We’ll sit down and come up with an idea.”

With many people saddened by the end of the much-loved series, we can only hope it’s soon!
