Haute 100 Update: Jay-Z Working with Adidas to Design new Brooklyn Nets Uniforms

On Tuesday, Sept. 27 hip hop mogul and part Nets owner Jay-Z introduced the newly-named Brooklyn Nets – to change their name from the New Jersey Nets when they move next year – and announced the details of their upcoming transition to the Barclays Center in September 2012.

In addition to a major press campaign to promote the team’s exciting new ventures, Jay-Z will also be reportedly working closely with iconic sportswear brand Adidas to design new uniforms for the team. He will also be working with Nets designers – who are currently working on the team’s new logo – in the creation of the jerseys.

The Nets’ current color scheme of red, silver, white, and navy blue will be changed as well. Although nothing has yet been concretely decided upon, it is certain that the word “Brooklyn” will be prominently displayed, capitalizing on the borough’s popular brand name.

“Brooklyn will be involved in whatever we do,” said Fred Mangione, chief marketing officer for the Nets and Barclays Center. “We will always tinker with things along the way.”
