China and Bordeaux: A Perfect Match

China is now the world’s largest importer of Bordeaux wine causing an increase of exports of the much consumed French wine. China has now outranked Germany as Bordeaux’s largest importer and sales have increased to over 85 percent.

The majority of the increase of exports comes from chateauxs which sell the wine below the usual sale price. Hong Kong still remains the number one importer for Bordeaux but China is slowly catching up. China  now buys 10 percent of all exports of the wine . Sales since 2010 rose 14 percent and the number is steadily rising.
