Andrew Carmellini to Open The Dutch Branch on Miami Beach
by Alison Agudo

South Beach will soon be getting a taste of The Dutch as Andrew Carmellini brings a branch of the SoHo restaurant down south.
Carmellini says that bringing a branch of The Dutch down to South Beach is “kind of a homecoming. My dad is from Miami and it’s always been my second home. My grandfather ran clubs and hotels and my grandmother still lives there.”
The Miami Beach branch of The Dutch will be located in the W Hotel on Collins Avenue, replacing Solea, the hotel’s original restaurant. Carmellini and his partners, Josh Pickard and Luke Ostrom, will run the restaurant, which is set to open in mid-November, just in time for Art Basel.
Carmellini said the menu will include iconic dishes that he associates with Miami, like sour orange pie, grouper sandwiches at lunch and local shrimp. While the New York restaurant has more of an urban feel, Carmellini said the Miami branch will have more an airy, indoor-outdoor feel.

There’s something about the city of New York; whether it be the fearless fashion or the flat-out fleeting pace that entices those that live outside of the big city. I for one love the fact that in NYC there is always an event taking place or a new restaurant to try.
Located in the center of the action, W South Beach combines contemporary style with world-class luxury, garnished by a playful Miami twist.
New York restaurateurs Chef Andrew Carmellini, Josh Pickard and Luke Ostrom have opened their wildly popular American restaurant, The Dutch, at The W South Beach Hotel & Residences in partnership with Miami impresarios Karim Masri and Nicola Siervo.
Nicola Siervo and Karim Masri are the Miami-based masterminds behind KNR Group, the company responsible for some of the hautest dining destinations, lounges and nightclubs in the city.
In the last few years, the culinary scene at Miami Beach has become just as famous as the beaches and the nightlife. Each year, renowned chefs open new restaurants in the heart of the city
W South Beach is a Miami staple for everything that lies inside of the chic establishment (Mr. Chow, WALL, The Dutch), but it’s also what’s on the outside that counts.
AS THE TACTICAL MASTERMIND behind New York hotspots The Dutch and Locanda Verde, restaurateur Luke Ostrom knows a thing or two about how to keep an eatery haute. He names great food, hospitality and intuiting guests’ needs as key, but we’re betting that partnerships like that with Robert De Niro...
W South Beach Hotel and Residences in Miami is offering a new package tailored for guests interested in buffing their bodies for the summer sizzle.
It’s the event of the season, and one that guests such as Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Alex von Furstenberg and Vito Schnabel attended last night.
