The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Opens in New York

With a cult-like following, especially amongst the celebrity bunch, Coffee bean & Tea Leaf have graced the street corners and shopping malls of the West Coast for years. Finally, New Yorkers can have their daily dose of what California has been bragging about.
Set to open it’s first New York City location near Times Square on Broadway between 39th & 40th Streets, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will be ready to serve New Yorkers their signature selections of coffees and teas beginning on August 29th. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is the largest privately-held specialty coffee and tea retailer in the U.S. The much-anticipated New York expansion comes after nearly 50 years of serving up a full selection of signature blends to international acclaim. ‘The Bean,’ asfill a noticeable void between the coffee conglomerates and the independent ‘mom and pop’ shops.

Jeffrey Srulowitz, CEO of New Amsterdam Coffee & Tea Co., LLC the area developer of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for Manhattan says, “New Yorkers are a discerning group, and we think they’ll be able to taste the passion we have for our product in every beverage we serve.”
The Times Square store will offer a wide variety of the finest grades of Arabica coffee from specially selected estates around the world that are custom roasted, in small batches, at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf facility in Camarillo, California. The stores will also offer hand-plucked whole leaf teas sourced from the most exclusive growing regions, as well asfresh baked goods and a full line of complementary coffee and tea merchandise.
