Regina Arriola’s Travel Diary: La Douceur De Vivre Sur Paris

The Sweet Life In Paris

Paris is a magical city, where anything seems possible. There is a feeling in Paris that is very different from that in London or Milan. The city is rich in history, and preserves a sense of classic elegance. The true Parisienne style is very particular, understated, and contradicts current trends and fads. A fashion rule of thumb for Parisienne’s, is to appear effortlessly chic.

Whether sporting a navy blue cashmere sweater with tailored white pants, or a simple black frock, a Parisienne woman never attempts to call attention. From my observation, style in Paris is mostly about accentuating natural beauty. Likewise, elegance and proper manners are of utmost importance, and a true Parisienne knows how to be charming, mysterious, and smart all at the same time.

I was impressed by the women I encountered in Paris, and how well balanced their sense of style is. Always refined and poised, a true Parisienne would pair, for example, a great evening dress with a pair of ballet flats. The element of surprise is what keeps their style fresh.

Although my time in Paris passed all too quickly, my journey through France continues. My trip extends through the Cote D’Azur, where I will visit the charming village of St. Paul De Vence, the magnificent grounds of Hotel Du Cap in Cap d’Antibes, the glamorous town of Monte Carlo, and finally a visit to St. Tropez, where luxury and relaxation unite.
