Preview Lights Out Miami at City Hall-The Restaurant Next Week
Imagine sitting down at a restaurant and subsequently having the power go out. Now imagine that you feel the AC come back on, you hear the waiters bustling around and you can smell your food being served to you, but you still can’t see anything. Wednesday, August 24, seasoned restaurateur and owner of City Hall-The Restaurant Steve Haas will pair up with Ability Explosion to offer just that–a night of dark dining.
Lights Out Miami, the in-the-dark dining event, benefits Ability Explosion, a non-profit organization that raises awareness and aims to better the lives of the disabled. This year, it will be held October 20. It will be offered at over 100 local restaurants, and each one will be serving multiple course dinners paired with wine. City Hall – The Restaurant is giving impatient diners a preview of the sensational event next week.
Here’s how it works. After enjoying welcome cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres, guests will be seated and blindfolded. They will then enjoy a mystery dinner of three courses and wine. Waiters will wear night-vision goggles to be able to assist guests throughout the evening.
Diners will experience the energy of the restaurant as well as the taste of executive chef Tom Azar’s American-style fare without their sense of sight.
This dark dinner will surely be an adventurous dining experience. The dinner, including tax and gratuity, is $85 per person. Reservations are required; email Irene at [email protected] or call her at (305) 389-0009 for tickets.
