Mandarin Oriental to Showcase Asian Art During Art Miami

Mandarin Oriental, Miami

Mandarin Oriental, Miami is proud to announce they will be hosting an art exhibition of contemporary Asian art in conjunction with this year’s Art Miami. Art Miami is the prestigious modern and contemporary art fair held during Art Week, which will run from November 30 through December 4 this year.

The exhibition at Mandarin Oriental will showcase work from several of China’s most exciting contemporary artists. Brian A. Dursam, expert in Chinese art and celebrated curator and director of The Lowe Museum, will curate the exhibit.

Art Miami will feature over 100 international galleries and prominent art institutions, and will be held in a 100,000 square foot pavilion in the Midtown Miami Arts district. Here, Mandarin Oriental will sponsor an oriental-style VIP lounge that will stay true to the hotel’s Asian service and amenities.

Since Mandarin Oriental is the official hotel sponsor of Art Miami, they will host a preview of the exhibit on December 1 at 7 pm. Profits gained from the private preview will benefit downtown Miami’s The Lotus House Women’s Shelter. Hotel guests will have access to the Art Miami lounge, the VIP fair amenities, a Mandarin Oriental Art Book and complimentary shuttle service to Art Miami.

“Our hotel has long played a role in Miami’s prominent art scene,” says Jorge Gonzalez, General Manager and Vice President of Mandarin Oriental, Miami.  “We are proud to honor our hotel’s Asian heritage with our exhibit of contemporary Chinese artists this year, and also to celebrate Art Miami’s rich history and preeminent position among America’s contemporary art fairs.”
