Hurricane Irene Starts Fashion Week Stir at Marc Jacobs

Mother Nature prompts Marc Jacobs to push their show at New York Fashion Week back three days. Jacob’s business partner Robert Duffy cites NYC’s going underground last Friday due to Hurricane Irene as prohibiting preparation for the house’s originally scheduled September 12 show.

Duffy told WWD, ” That lost time is impossible to make up without pushing the show back. Our entire sample room – most of the people live outside the city and they couldn’t get in here this weekend, nor would we have wanted them to. I feel the worst about people who want to get off to London.”

Now on the calender for Thursday September 15 at 8.30pm, the frantic rescheduling may be a pr nightmare for folks at London Fashion Week, which starts on Friday morning.
